ActionAid Hellas was founded in 1998 and has created solidarity bridges between its 180,000 Greek supporters and the most vulnerable and marginalized people in Africa, Asia and the Americas. ActionAid Hellas is one of the strongest civil society organizations in Greece. It is well established and appreciated in the Greek society.

The Development Education Department of ActionAid Hellas [http://education.actionaid.gr/] was established in 2000 when it first started implementing educational programs in schools. Our vision is a society where all citizens, adults, young and children, act for a world free of poverty and injustice. We create educational opportunities in order to cultivate critical thinking and awareness of global reality, so that children, young people and those involved in their education, can take action at local, national and international level towards an equal and sustainable world. ActionAid is a leader in educating and informing children, teens and their teachers through programs of Development Education.
