Adult education - a great importance of today's world

Adult education and lifelong learning are of great importance in today's world for several reasons.
The rapid advancement of technology and globalization has resulted in a constantly changing job market. Many jobs that were once in high demand are now becoming obsolete, while new jobs requiring advanced skills are emerging. Adult education and lifelong learning provide individuals with the opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge, enabling them to adapt to these changes and remain competitive in the workforce. Adult education and lifelong learning promote personal development and growth. They allow individuals to pursue their interests, explore new subjects, and expand their horizons. This not only enhances their intellectual capabilities but also contributes to their overall well-being and fulfillment.
Adult education and lifelong learning play a crucial role in addressing societal challenges. They provide opportunities for individuals to develop critical thinking skills, engage in informed decision-making, and contribute to the development of their communities. Lifelong learners are more likely to be active and engaged citizens, promoting social cohesion and positive change.
Adult education and lifelong learning have been shown to have a positive impact on health and quality of life. Studies have found that ongoing learning can contribute to improved cognitive function, reduced risk of mental health issues, and increased social interaction. It can also help individuals to stay mentally and physically active as they age.
In summary, adult education and lifelong learning are important in today's world due to the changing job market, personal development benefits, societal impact, and positive effects on health and well-being. They enable individuals to adapt, grow, and contribute to their communities, ultimately leading to a more prosperous and inclusive society.
Our project is inspired by two observations. Firstly, there is a clear need to increase social inclusion in the adult education sector, across Europe; and secondly, it is necessary to further support the professional development of educators who are often on the front line and who are responsible for improving social inclusion in adult education to a large extent.
For this reason, the project aims to improve social inclusion in adult education by increasing educators’ competences in reaching adults, motivating them to start and continue learning, and providing advisory support to put them on the path of lifelong learning.

Nowadays a lot of…
Nowadays a lot of information is available for free or very cheap online. So it is challenging for educators to offer courses that are interesting and thought them in an attractive way since there are so many different interests. Additionally science based courses are not so attractive so there is very difficult to compete with pseudoscientific seminars.
