Understanding ChatGPT – The Essentials

Artificial Intelligence is no longer optional — it’s essential. In this practical and future-focused Erasmus+ course, educators will explore the foundations and everyday applications of ChatGPT and other AI tools in their teaching practice.
Designed for teachers, school staff, and adult educators, this course breaks down AI into clear, usable parts. Participants will learn how to ask effective prompts, understand the capabilities and limits of ChatGPT, and explore concrete examples of how to use AI in the classroom — from lesson planning to assessment and student support.
You don’t need to be a tech expert to join. This course is about gaining confidence and clarity in a rapidly changing landscape, and making AI a helpful partner rather than an intimidating mystery.
The course includes:
Hands-on activities using ChatGPT and similar tools
Ethical considerations in AI use in education
Group discussions and lesson plan development
Real classroom case studies and examples
Daily reflection sessions and feedback
The training will take place in Amsterdam, August 10–16.
