New funding streams from the Comic Relief Community Fund in Wales

The Comic Relief Community Fund in Wales has introduced two new funding streams to facilitate large grants for organisational growth and small grants. Organisations that will be considered eligible must have an income of less than £250,000 and a purpose that is socially focused. A total of £1,350,000 funding is available to be shared between grants.
The larger grants for organisational growth will allow successful applicants to increase impact and resilience. For example, applicants may choose to focus funding on developing new ways of working, or measuring and strengthening the organisation’s impact on the community activity that it supports. Grants can reach up to £60,000.

Smaller grants allow local community groups to make positive changes and respond to the needs of their local communities. Grants are in the range of £1,000 - £10,000.
For both types of funding, organisations need to prove that they are working with one (or more) of the following Comic Relief themes:
- Mental health matters – increasing awareness and enabling access to support
- Gender justice – supporting equality for women and girls
- Children survive and thrive – helping children to have the best start in life and achieve their potential
- A safe place to be – helping vulnerable individuals improve their safety and circumstances
The funding page can be found on the Third Sector Support Wales website and contains contact information, as well as all the necessary forms and information for applying for funding, including scheme guidance, application forms and project finances.
