International Storytelling & Folklore Festival

Storytelling was part of the fabric of life in the Iveragh Peninsula in South Kerry for centuries and the Sneem International Storytelling & Folklore Festival is breathing life back into this all but lost tradition in the area.
The festival features professional, local, international, young and old storytellers. Cork’s Poc ar Buile Seán Ó Sé will join well known and lesser known authors and performers such as Alice Taylor, Mary McEvoy & Jon Kenny on the festival programme this year.
In addition to indoor storytelling, bring your walking boots and go on a guided storytelling walk in the Kerry hills, attend a workshop or a story swap and enjoy lunchtime theatre or the South Kerry Rosen Choir all in the beautiful village of Sneem on the Wild Atlantic Way in Kerry.

“There is a story in all of us and this festival is a platform for all enthusiasts, young and old, to enjoy a yarn and share a tale”. Batt Burns, seanchaí & festival founder.
