International scientific conference at the Lithuanian Sea Museum

The Dolphin Assisted Therapy Center will be opened at the international scientific conference "Invisible Powers of Nature" that is dedicated to the animal assisted therapy. Participants of the conference are going to share positive practical and scientific experience in the field of pet assisted therapy at the Lithuanian Sea Museum on May 14-15th. This conference is organized in the frame of the European Lifelong Learning Programme Grundtvig Learning Partnership project PAT (Pet Assisted Therapy. Learning with Them) funded with support from the European Commission.
Specialists of the Sea museum have visited many foreign countries within a few years of participating in the project. The head of Dolphin Assisted Therapy Department Brigita Kreivinienė says that pet assisted therapy becomes more and more popular not only abroad but in Lithuania as well.
The international scientific conference "Invisible Powers of Nature" is held in Lithuania for the first time. In spite of that, more than 70 participants are coming from eight countries. Practical training activities, educational programs and discussions will take place on the first day (Thursday). On the second day (Friday) participants will have an opportunity to listen to keynote speakers – specialists of dolphins, horses, dogs and even donkeys assisted therapy from Lithuania, England, Romania, Poland, Estonia, Spain, Hungary and Italy.
The main organizer of the international scientific conference "Invisible Powers of Nature" is the Lithuanian Sea Museum. Partners are Klaipeda University Department of Social Work and Tallin University Institute of Educational Sciences.
