The Fins into the Water project aims at improving the understanding of the 7 sea literacy principles, tailor made for the Mediterranean region.

Principally targeting water sport enthusiasts and leisure centres from the region, the project has developed several valuable and important materials that can enhance the understanding, force the creation of sea literate societies and make real changes in the Coastal and Maritime Tourism (CMT) users and providers.

All the materials are freely and openly accessible to anybody interested in the topic or a professional in the CMT sector.

Materials and resources include:

• Resource Map with more than 150 teaching materials, articles, case studies in field of ocean literacy selected for different water sports. It also includes those water sport and leisre centres who has been trained up and were provided with the materials.
• Data Base with more than 150 teaching materials, articles, case studies in the field of ocean literacy,
• Visual contents explaining the 7 Mediterranean Sea Literacy principles in the format of videos and info cards (English and Spanish)
• Mediterranean Sea Literacy brochure is all regional languages (English, Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Maltese, Croatian, Slovenian, Turk)
• Recording of the final webinar session that discussed best practices from the field and advocated for the wider use of sea literacy in the water sport sector.

The project is an small-scale Eramus+ project, with the length of 24-month between 03/10/2022 and 03/10/2024.
