Educational visit – Information on the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning

The National Support Services of the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning, EPALE, held a training meeting at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, in collaboration with the Learning, Training, Research and Counseling Center LCEducational.

The purpose of the educational meeting was to inform the participants involved in the field of adult education about the functions and capabilities of the platform as well as how to use the platform both for the professional development of adult educators and for the management of the projects they implement. Participants were informed that EPALE is the European Commission's official digital platform for individuals and organizations active in adult education, and that EPALE was created as an EU initiative to help improve the quality of adult education and increase the participation of adults in lifelong learning and educational programs and activities. In Cyprus, the EPALE program has been implemented in 2015 and is supervised by the Directorate of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth. The Project Management in Cyprus is undertaken by EPALE Cyprus National Support Service (NSS).

More particularly, the meeting was attended by adult education professionals from Bratislava, and more specifically the Sibirka organization, which deals with people with disabilities who arrived in Cyprus to receive training from LCEducational. The second group of participants from Slovakia came to Cyprus in the framework of the project "We study because we teach", while the third group consisted of 7 adult educators from Denmark who visited Cyprus for a study visit to LCEducational.
