BuildOffSite discusses the challenges of industrialised construction

The Fundación Laboral de la Construcción (FLC) talked about industrialised construction and held the Information Day of our Erasmus+ BuildOffSiteEU project within the framework of its first seminar on ‘Training and Employment Initiatives for Sustainable Construction’. The event was held on 10 July at the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM) and could also be followed in streaming through the FLC’s YouTube channel.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the main challenges of industrialised construction in Spain and to find out about the ‘BuildOffSite’ project, its results and its objectives. They also analysed some of the ‘new skills’ needed to facilitate the transition of the workforce from traditional to industrialised construction.
The conference was attended by people belonging to the sector, sectoral agents and representatives of the Public Administration. Also noteworthy was the participation of the sustainability working group of the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, which addressed the issue of the qualification and employment needs for a more sustainable construction.
Finally, a round table was held to discuss the challenges to be addressed by the construction sector in terms of training and employment in order to tackle the issue of climate change.
