WORKPLACE LEARNING: HOW?

Adult learning, in the most general sense, describes the learning ability and capacity of adults at all ages. Learning takes place in many ways in everyday life. Technological advancements have facilitated access to information in the digital age and made learning more important than ever. There are many ways to learn, and one of the ways of learning is learning at workplace.
Developments in the production and dissemination of information have made necessary to develop skills rapidly in the workplace and adapt to new information. Another aspect of adapting new skills and developing skills is the lack of coordination between education systems and existing demand. This makes the role of in-service learning opportunities important.
In today's world of increasing literacy, it will not be wrong to argue that information literacy and technology literacy becomes prominent. What we know was important in the past, and today what we can learn is important. This indicates the individual's ability to learn and the concept of learning to learn.
Changing qualifications and changing technology connection with knowledge in the workplace necessitate learning to learn. In the studies, it is stated that learning for higher efficiency and performance can affect the curiosity and interest to learn negatively. Therefore, while learning something new, it should be consider that learning is primarily one of the basic needs.
For effective learning in the workplace, it is primarily important to provide an environment that promotes learning and learning culture.
