Intercultural Competences for Adult Educators working with Multicultural and Multilingual Learners
The main objective of intercultural education lies in preparing people to perceive, accept, respect and experience alterity.
The INCREASE project aims to strengthen ICC of adult educators working in various formal & non-formal educational settings in order to help them to overcome the challenges arising from their everyday work with multicultural & multilingual learner populations:
Mapping of the current situation
Identification of experiences of adult educators in dealing with multicultural learners, problems/difficulties faced, successful experiences/best practices actions, advice/tips on dealing with multicultural groups of adults
Enhancing Intercultural Communicative Competence
Support the adult educators from both formal & non-formal education institutions while working with multicultural & multilingual learners, to use specialized tools to evaluate the stress of acculturation& get involved in a ICC self-learning training.
Increasing cultural awareness
Increasing cultural awareness among adult educators by involving them in piloting, in cascading the newly gained knowledge, experience & expertise during the dissemination and promotional multiplier events.
Interactive Map
Interactive Map of Multicultural and Multilingual adult educators/learners in EU with focus on knowledge, skills & attitudes; including database of testimonials – audio/video/written testimonials from multicultural adult educators/learners.
E-Tests
E-Tests/Questionnaire Tool to set up the Profile of multicultural learners’ needs, related to the process of adaptation of freshman international learners and immigrants.
Training Programme
Intercultural Communicative Competence Training Programme for Adult Educators (60 hours), available in 6 languages (EN, RO, IT, ES, GR, LT)and piloting it with representatives of the target group.
