Modern society has brought everyone as ICT consumers. The course “ITC in Education: Innovative Approaches to Teaching” held in Rome between 20-24.02.2023 had as a main aim to improve the digital competencies, to motivate and guide the work team towards a strategic objective. It provided a practical guide for anyone who works within and beyond the education sector.

Nowadays everyone follows one dream: the dream of living together, of being together. The role of ICT is that of bringing people together and making them want to be close to one another.

In education ITC is very important since it provides access to all types of learners. All students can learn from the provided material. Even students with special needs can get the most out of its use. ICTs also cover topics such as the digital divide and enable even those with less material conditions to have access to tools that meet their educational needs and improve learning.

Information and communication technology encourages collaboration when students work as a team. It also improves communication skills when students discuss, talk and study together. All they need is a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer to know that it works. ICT tools open doors for language development by fostering communication.

By integrating ICTs into education and their tools, students become more and more involved in learning, all thanks to technologies that make learning fun, creative and playful, improving learning in many ways. That is why, students learn better, which leads to the preservation of knowledge.

ICT in education develops creativity, critical thinking and reasoning skills. These skills enable assessment, planning, monitoring, control, reflection. To use ICT, students must be able to discuss, test and evaluate the strategies and methods they use. ICT enables students to become creative, to develop new things and get target-oriented.

Information technology and its tools have led to the emergence of e-learning, through which teachers and students learn innovative methods in the educational process. Online learning has become popular during the corona pandemic to ensure continued learning of your own pace and your own interests.

We live in an economy that plunges into the production and dissemination of complete information, we find ICTs at all levels, in many different sectors such as health, education, production, the environment or manufacturing, therefore their use is necessary everywhere, at all levels.

The advantage of ICT in education is that students in the can learn from extracurricular materials. Students with special needs are no longer at a disadvantage as they have access to materials. Basic and specific IT tools that can be used by students using IT for their own educational needs. However, it opens up new challenges related to the digital divide and provides access to ICT tools and resources for the less fortunate.

The different applications help students in becoming better prepared, self motivated and more creative. ITC brings students closer to one another, makes people confident in their own learning.

The course “ITC in Education: Innovative Approaches to Teaching” was a very productive one since it combined theory and practice, challenged participants and put them into real life situations by sharing experience, participating actively and finding ways of dealing with problems. The course offered the trainees the possibility to interact with other people, to engage in cross-cultural learning experience and build a network for future international cooperation, promote mobility and partnerships in a multicultural environment and contribute to a cohesive European society.
