The 2017 Mental Wealth Festival

The Mental Wealth Festival - organised by City Lit and Books Beyond Words – is a three-day festival of talks, debates, seminars and mindfulness, with a broad programme, celebrating many aspects of life that contribute to people’s mental wellbeing.
This year the festival is taking place in venues at City Lit in Covent Garden and The National Gallery (13th-14th September) and Houses of Parliament (12th September). We will be exploring the “human face of wellbeing”, and will help festival-goers to move beyond the usual mental health statistics and policies and to encounter real stories, discovering how we can achieve and celebrate mental wealth.
On Thursday 14th September Baroness Sheila Hollins will also be hosting a panel discussion on family carers of children and adults in need of extra understanding because of mental health or developmental difficulties and joined by Sean Fletcher (journalist and radio broadcast personality from Good Morning Britain) Luned Tonderai, Marcella Cooper and Mr and Mrs Chamberlain.
Other events will range from small-scale creative workshops to larger evening events with guest speakers who are passionate about inspiring commitment to positive mental wellbeing and in driving changes in attitudes.
*Please note some aspects of the festival are invite only. Please refer to the festival schedule.
