TAM: Seminar on academic integrity

Last week at the premises of the Ministry of Education in Kosovo, an important event took place as part of the HERE Technical Assistance Mission (TAM). We had the privilege of hosting Prof. Mohammed Khalil from the University of Bergen, Norway, who led a focused discussion on the essential topic of academic integrity and the challenges and solutions related to anti-plagiarism in higher education.

The session served as a valuable platform for sharing insights, experiences, and practical strategies to uphold academic honesty within universities and research institutions.

An additional highlight of the event was the introduction of Inspera Originality – an innovative, Kosovo-born product recently acquired by Inspera, a leading provider of digital assessment solutions. The tool is set to be implemented in academic institutions across Sweden and Norway, with the goal of strengthening assessment integrity and promoting originality in scholarly work.

This engagement marks a meaningful step forward in promoting a culture of academic integrity through collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility. We are thankful for the insightful exchanges and look forward to advancing integrity in higher education across Kosovo and beyond.

It was truly inspiring to see such a strong focus on academic integrity during last week’s HERE Technical Assistance Mission at the Ministry of Education in Kosovo. Prof. Mohammed Khalil brought deep insight into the complex challenges of upholding academic honesty, and the discussion around practical anti-plagiarism strategies was incredibly valuable for everyone involved.

A special highlight for me was learning about Inspera Originality – a Kosovo-born innovation now making its way into institutions in Sweden and Norway. It’s a great example of how local solutions can have international impact, especially in the field of digital assessment and integrity.

Events like this remind us that promoting academic integrity isn’t just about policy—it’s about collaboration, innovation, and building a shared culture of responsibility in higher education. I’m hopeful about the positive ripple effects this initiative will have, both in Kosovo and beyond.
