LKL - Let's Keep Learning
"Let's Keep Learning" is an association of Social Promotion registered in the Register of the Third Sector, based in Vasto (Italy). The association is specialised in the care and assistance of disadvantaged persons with cultural, social, economic and/or psychological difficulties.
The association was founded on the initiative of a group of parents, psychologists, pedagogists, experts in training and education that aims to realise
- initiatives aimed at raising awareness about social, educational and psychological distress (dyslexia, ADHD, autism) of children and teenagers;
- non-formal education for students and youth, especially of those with socio-economic obstacles, students with learning difficulties, with special educational needs (SEN), at risk of drop-out and/or early school leaving;
- training for parents, teachers, social workers, support teachers and in general all those who, for professional or personal reasons assist the disabled;
- training for adults, especially disadvantaged adults
Activities of the association related to the topic of this application are:
- a free service desk for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents with special educational needs, psychological distress, emotional distress, gender identity, addictions, young people at risk of marginalisation/exclusion
- the management of the public Youth Information called InformaGiovani, a public desk of the municipality of Vasto which aims to involve young people between 12 and 30 years old in educational and recreational animation activities also aimed to improve youth well-being
- an after-school service for SEN students
- a free service desk for families of disabled people.
Furthermore, at a European level, the association has developed a series of projects on special educational needs and on psychological well-being in general.
From the beginning the Association LKL has been taking care of two different target groups:
- trainers, educators, and practitioners who in the field of Adult Education need effective tools to meet the challenge of renewal and internationalisation
- a larger number of learners, children and youth, who are disadvantaged for socio-economic reasons, socio-cultural and/or geographical, with physical or sensory disabilities, who access services offered by the Association.
In time, to these two target groups, we have added a third one, being parents of youngster, who use the counselling services of our Association and are interested in training paths and events for the development of soft skills and digital skills.
The latter target group is regularly involved in information and training events that LKL has been organizing since 2012, first in mutual-help meetings and for about 4 years also with training courses.
In January 2023 LKL has obtained the Erasmus+ Accreditation for KA1 mobility projects in the Adult Education sector.
