Creative Methodology in Language Teaching

The 5-day intensive course ‘Creative Methodology in Language Teaching’ offers language teachers a hands-on opportunity to explore how creative approaches can enhance the teaching of adult learners. It is designed for educators who wish to bring more innovation, engagement, and learner-centred strategies into their classrooms while focusing on the development of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills as well as teaching grammar and vocabulary.

Throughout the course, participants will actively engage in a variety of creative techniques such as creative writing, storytelling, role-play, game-based learning, and visual prompts that make language learning more dynamic and meaningful. These methods are aimed at increasing student motivation, participation, and confidence, particularly in adult education settings where relevance, authenticity, and learner autonomy are key.

The course places a strong emphasis on lesson planning, guiding participants in designing lessons that are both imaginative as well as pedagogically valuable. You’ll explore how to design activities that meet the needs of diverse adult learners and how to link creativity with clear learning outcomes. Practical examples will support you in integrating creative methods into your existing teaching practice.

Participants will also have opportunities to reflect on their own teaching, share experiences with teaching peers from different countries, and explore how creative methodology can promote not just language development, but also skills such as critical thinking and real-world communication. The course encourages experimentation in a supportive and inspiring environment.

By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a toolbox of adaptable strategies, fresh lesson ideas, and renewed confidence to make your language classes more interactive, creative, and learner-centred. You will also receive the Certificate of Attendance and Europass Mobility document, or any other documentation required by your organisation/school to apply for the Erasmus+ programme.
