Collaborative Space User Guide
1. Welcome
Thank you for creating an EPALE Collaborative Space. You can access it via:
The My Groups section
The Collaborative Spaces page
2. Collaborative Space Overview
When accessing the group, you land on the overview page of your space (1). Each collaborative space has a title and description which you provided. From the overview page, you can:
- View, upload and edit events, news, documents, and discussions (2)
- Moderation panel for content published by group members, currently disabled for private groups. (3)
- See members of the group (4)
- Administer members of the group (5 - 6)
- Edit the title and add an image of the group (7)
3. Spam content
Please note that once new members are accepted, they will be able to post within the collaborative space without requiring admin validation. For this reason, it is important to highlight that the administrator of each collaborative space is responsible for moderating it and ensuring that spam, as well as inappropriate or offensive behaviour, is not tolerated.
Specifically, please pay attention to:
- Suspicious email addresses or contact details.
- External links redirecting outside the platform.
- Attached files (e.g. PDFs) or other media that could contain spam or malicious material.
Any content displaying spam indicators, inappropriate material, or offensive behaviour must be immediately reported and not published. Always ensure published content complies with platform security and quality standards.
4. Getting Started
4.1. Create Content
Collaborative Spaces should be all about sharing, exchanging and discussing important and relevant topics. Getting started is easy!
To create content in a Collaborative Space, all you need to do is click on one of the content types on the menu bar and click on ‘Add new post’.
This takes you to a screen which allows you to start creating content:
- Add a title – make it informative but concise.
- Select the post type you are creating from the drop-down menu – this could be a news item, event, discussion topic or document. It is important to select the correct category to ensure that other members of the space can find what they are looking for when browsing the Collaborative Space.
- Enter a small summary (teaser) of your content
- Enter your description (text and images) into the box titled Body.
- Add any documents or multimedia by clicking on Add a new file.
- Click Save
4.2. Comments and Ratings
You can like a post by clicking on the thumbs-up icon. You can also comment on any published item of content.
