ADELE - Advancing Digital Empowerment of Libraries in Europe
Digital technologies have profoundly changed our personal, professional and educational lives. The changes in the educational landscape due to digital progress are far-reaching and the adult education sector is now exploring new roles, methods, and services in lifelong learning to better reach learners and make their services more user-friendly. But how can adult education organisations, especially those operating in the non-formal education sector, know if they’re using digital technologies to the fullest?
The Advancing Digital Empowerment of Libraries in Europe (ADELE) project aims to answer this question by offering a free customisable web-based tool that helps adult education organisations reflect on how they use and where they can further integrate digital technologies to improve their services. The tool developed builds on the SELFIE tool for schools developed by the European Commission to support adult education organisations offering non-formal education. In doing so, the tool will help non-formal education organisations be digitally ready and forward-looking.
The "Resourcing Libraries" Webinar Series - now available online
As part of the ADELE project, the project partners organised a series of 4 webinars on digital skills development in public libraries in Europe. The Resourcing Libraries webinar series is a crucial resource for public libraries and librarians to learn more about EU initiatives and programmes and access EU funding.
The webinars provide participants with information on the EU, its context and funds; identify which EU programmes are relevant to libraries; detail the steps for developing project applications; and provide insights on how to successfully maintain a project beyond its lifecycle.
