Colwinston Charitable Trust offering grants for performing arts in Wales

The Colwinston Charitable Trust provides UK charities with grants for delivering performing arts and visual arts projects. Although UK organisations will be considered, there is a significant focus on projects that benefit Wales specifically, with over 80% of funding directed at the nation. Funding is generated from royalties from the London production of Agatha Christie’s long-running and hugely popular play The Mousetrap.
Projects of particular interest to the trustees include those that show excellence in the performing arts and visual arts fields, or collaborative projects that help organisations to share costs and skills and extend the reach of the activity. Projects that support young people in understanding the possibilities of the arts and improve their access to it are also of great interest.
Successful grants range from £5,000-£20,000. Organisations that wish to apply for the maximum grant must contact the Trust before completing the application and should note that grants of this size are usually reserved for organisations delivering high quality artistic activity in Wales. Funding for successful grants is likely to come to the receiver at least four months after the application deadline.
Application guidelines and further details can be found here on the Colwinston Trust website. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2019.
