FACEPA

Facepa was born in 1996 with the main goal of working for a model of democratic education in which the voices of people who have not had access or facilities to access cultural and educational resources could fully participate in society. Currently, FACEPA is formed by 14 associations. In harmony with our social goals- overcoming social inequality, promoting citizen participation in all areas, fostering solidarity relationships between people and collectives- the beneficiaries of all the federation's actions are adults without academic qualifications from different cultures, genders, and ages who are participating in educational processes. The federation focuses its work on those groups at risk of social exclusion, such as women, immigrants, the elderly and young people without academic qualifications.
At a state level, it is part of CONFAPEA (Confederation of Federations and Associations of Participants in Adult Education and Democratic Culture). At an international level, Facepa is part of the network EAEA (European Association for the Education of Adults) and the network ESBN (European Basic Skills Network).
The activities that we run, as a federation, are:
- Women’s Groups
- Multicultural Groups
- Dialogical Literacy Gatherings
- Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Workshops
- Congresses
- Facilitation and Support for the federated associations.
At the European level, we have recently actively developed the following projects: DigiUp, assuming the coordinator’s role, and Edu-Fin, ScienceLit, FinanceGo!, contributing as partners of the consortium.
