This webinar marks the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. What is the community and voluntary sector doing to promote sustainability and implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
Join Johnny Sheehan, and guests Tara Grace Connolly and Conn McCarrick, Ireland’s newly elected UN Youth Delegates to discuss how the SDGs have been implemented to date, their continued relevance to the work of the community & voluntary sector in Ireland and how the sector should effectively engage with development and implementation of Ireland’s National Implementation Plan for the SDGs.
We will explore how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted on the goals and how social, environmental and economic recovery must be aligned with the realization of the SDGs.
Participants will leave the webinar with greater awareness of:
- Progress on the achievement of the SDGs and the impact of COVID-19
- The role of Ireland’s UN Youth Delegate programme in driving implementation of the SDGs
- Opportunities for the community and voluntary sector to shape policy and practice around the SDGs.
