A promotion path for sustainable employability: not too behind the scenes ... the internal potential of employability, soft skills, networking, and so-called récit de soi.
This paper describes a pilot run of self assessment and support for employability of employees. It has been realized with a group of young graduates and undergraduates as part of the Service for Promotion of Employability at the Sinapsi Centre of University of Naples Federico II.
Carried out during the period from December 2015 to January 2016, the experience has been developed in line with the Europe 2020 strategy for inclusive, sustainable and solidarity-based growth. This contains a proposal about creating an integrated system for the validation of formal, non-formal and informal skills, as a tool for the promotion of youth employment (Striano & Capobianco, 2016).
Initially, the Competence Assessment training included the self-assessment of transversal skills and the reconnaissance and enhancement of training and professional experiences through the use of narrative-autobiographical devices. Subsequently, from 2016, the path has been re-designed also based on the definition of the employability construct and the consequent development of the questionnaire ISFOL called AVO Young (Isfol, 2016).
This article explains the theoretical perspectives that have orientated the members of the staff of the Service in the design of the Competence Assessment path. In addition, data derived from the specific activities proposed in the training are presented and discussed.
