They get to know new methods of learning

There are computer games, but not only, which take a moment to draw us completely into. This is the degree of commitment when the brain absorbs best. The best educators use this fact to teach. The secrets of effective learning were presented over the past few days by animators from the German organization International Exchanges Berlin in CSE "Światowid" in Elbląg. The training took place as part of the Erasmus+ project called "Elbląg educators for seniors".

- Reality requires us to constantly learn new things. Technology is moving forward and I want to keep up with it- admitted one of the participants of Berlin training for seniors and educators. - It's good that there are meetings where we can learn how to do it.

As it turns out, more and more of us are not audiences or visual learners, but kinesthetics. - Kinesthetics are people who learn best in movement and through touch- explained Ada Riggaci from International Exchanges Berlin. - Knowing what techniques we learn best allows you to properly match effective learning techniques. International Exchanges Berlin is an institution engaged in advanced education and training programs. Its recipients are a wide range of people of different ages and with different qualifications. It has experience in working with international training teams and seniors.

During the training, participants could test the ways to acquire new skills such as education through playing, learning through mistakes or visual thinking. They also learned about educational applications, including Mentimeter application improving brainstorming and Kahoot.

- Visual thinking is a way to think creatively about the problem- explained the German educator Francesco Molinari- It's great for working with children and seniors, as well as in business. The use of this method in education enriches the vocabulary, enforces conversations and drawing conclusions. It also helps in learning foreign languages.

Hence the idea for workshops on innovative teaching methods in which International Exchanges Berlin specializes. The training was supposed to give practitioners and seniors a practical way of teaching modern methods of teaching and learning.

Berlin training for seniors took place at CSE "Światowid" from 21st to 24th October.

They are part of the project called "Elbląg educators for seniors", which involves the exchange of experience with organizations from three countries: Spain, Germany and Italy. In September, representatives of the Spanish organization AIFED talked about their ways of activating seniors and engaging them in volunteering. In October, however, educators from International Exchanges Berlin talked about effective learning methods. The last training meeting in Poland from this project will take place in November. It will be carried out by Italian animators from the Euro-Net association.

The "Elbląg educators for seniors" project is implemented with the support of the European Union Erasmus + program.
