Mission Possible: Shaping Sustainability in Everyday Work Life

Der Originalbeitrag wurde von Elisa Goldmann auf Deutsch veröffentlicht.
What does it take to anchor sustainability in the workplace? Less theory – more practice. Less obligation – more motivation. This is exactly where the European Erasmus+ project Shift2Green comes in, bringing fresh energy into adult education and business practice with two innovative tools: an interactive gamification app and a comprehensive guide for sustainable business development help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) approach the green transformation in a realistic, measurable, and effective way
Sustainability through Play: The Shift2Green Gamification App
Sustainability should be fun – even at work. The Shift2Green Gamification is a browser-based tool that challenges employees with six exciting missions, a total of 96 tasks, and 14 leadership challenges to develop environmentally conscious habits. Whether through team competitions for a car-free commute, creative energy-saving ideas in the office, or smarter waste strategies for home offices: The game encourages initiative, strengthens teamwork, and motivates real behavior change.
The app works without installation barriers directly via the link https://game.shift2green.eu – also on mobile devices. Progress indicators, leaderboards, and knowledge quizzes ensure sustainable learning with a gamification factor
Structure Instead of Buzzwords: The Shift2Green Guide
In addition to the game, a scientifically-based guide is available to systematically accompany SMEs through the sustainable transformation. The Shift2Green Guidance Tool provides step-by-step instructions, best practice examples from Europe, funding tips, competency profiles, and ready-to-use training materials. A special focus is placed on practical solutions for companies with limited resources – whether craft businesses or educational institutions.
The target audience includes entrepreneurs, sustainability officers, trainers, and change agents who seek concrete support in bringing sustainability from the agenda into daily business operations. The guide is available in multiple languages – including German: Shift2Green Guide
Gamification + Guidance = Change with Impact
Shift2Green shows: Sustainability is not an abstract vision, but a matter of daily decisions – and these can be promoted, supported, and practiced in a playful way. The twist: Both tools complement each other perfectly. For example, the guide provides implementation tips for mobility strategies, while the app motivates users to put the proposed measures into practice through daily challenges. The project was developed by partner organizations from Germany, Poland, Austria, Lithuania, and Bulgaria, and funded by the EU's Erasmus+ program. For more information and materials: www.shift2green.eu
