The National Institute - University Library “Sveti Kliment Ohridski” is one of five national libraries funded by Macedonia’s Ministry of Culture. Located in Bitola, Macedonia, the National Library functions as a cultural institution that employs thirty-nine paid-staff members and serves over twenty-thousand members of the Bitola community. The Library not only offers book-lending services – for both children and adults – but operates in a number of other departments dedicated to cultural preservation, including Bibliographic Information and Protection and Reprography. In addition to these services, the Library also serves as a project venue for local organizations, has a museum area open to the public, and offers monthly workshops for the community.
