Storytelling as Cultural Exchange: Creating, Sharing, and Connecting Through Oral Tradition

The objective of this article is to show the storytelling workshop that we would be developing at our potential host's centre.

The storytelling workshop we propose for our mobility is based on a simple idea: sharing culture through words, memory, and collective creation.

It is not just about telling stories, but about creating a space where adults can reconstruct, reinterpret, and give new life to traditional tales. Through guided activities, participants work on oral storytelling, creative expression, and critical reflection, adapting legends and stories to their own life experiences.

This proposal does not come from theory, but from practice. In our center, we have already developed an intergenerational workshop in which people of different ages have collaborated in creating stories, illustrations, and activities related to local legends. The result has been particularly enriching: exchange of knowledge, strengthening of the sense of community, and recovery of cultural heritage from a contemporary perspective.

Our intention in the mobility is to bring this model to other contexts. We do not expect host institutions to prepare activities for us; on the contrary, we are the ones who bring a structured, flexible, and easily adaptable workshop. We want to share our way of working, but also to learn from new stories, approaches, and traditions.

Because the true value of this project lies in that exchange: bringing our culture, yes, but also returning with new voices, new stories, and new ways of understanding the world.

To tell is to share. To listen is to learn. To create is to connect.
