The Ymoch project: improving social and digital skills of young and old

Do you think intergenerational contacts should be improved? Do you think cooking together and digital activities can help? Then you've come to the right place at the Ymoch project.

Our mission:

  • We believe in the positive impact of interaction between young and old about food and culinary traditions.
  • Through this communication, intergenerational and digital skills can be gradually improved while having a lot of fun together.
  • In this project, we have developed useful online educational materials and tools for culinary events in which young people and older people work together.

The balance sheet after two years

At the end of our last project meeting in Freiberg in Germany, we were left with the final report: a good opportunity to list all our products. There are a lot of them: too many to mention. But there is a place where the interested reader can go for years to come to see if there is something to use for themselves. That's the YMOCH website: www.culinary-heritage.eu. There you can find everything related to our mission: improving the social and digital skills of young people and the elderly. The magic word here is "cooking together". Take a look at the online cookbook with old recipes, or at a special version of the time-honoured Game of the Goose. And the latest newsletter can also be found there, in all partner languages.

A word about our experience: it was a fantastic consortium. Partners became friends and plans for the future were made.
