BUILDING POSITIVE CYBER SECURITY: DIGITAL WELLBEING FOR
FAMILIES (BE@SAFE)
Today’s world is more interconnected than ever before. Yet, for all its advantages, increased
connectivity brings increased risk of theft, fraud, and abuse. Alongside advances in
technology and increased expectations of technological competence, there have been
increases in societal concerns regarding cybercrime, cyber-deviance and associated online
risks. Technology is increasingly intertwining with everyday life and is viewed as a basic
human right. Anyone can be a subject to cyber violence, and this type of crime is becoming an
unfortunate element of everyday life. As technology continues to become more integrated into
our lives, it's essential to understand the importance of cybersecurity and how to protect
ourselves and our loved ones online. As a parent, it can be overwhelming to navigate the ever-
evolving digital landscape.
Cyber security is important because smartphones, computers and the internet are now such a
fundamental part of modern life, that it's difficult to imagine how we'd function without them.
From online banking and shopping, to email and social media, it's more important than ever to
take steps that can prevent cyber criminals getting hold of our accounts, data, and devices.
Various dangers lurk on the internet while people are browsing, learning, gaming, and being
social, and discussions about internet safety should be prioritized. Developing internet safety
plans and setting usage boundaries will help families practice online cyber safety and use
technology more securely as children and seniors like engage in online activity.
In the digital age, children and seniors are exposed to a vast amount of technology and the
internet, making them vulnerable to cybercrime. Cybercrime includes bullying, harassment,
identity theft, fraud, and other online dangers that can harm children’s mental and emotional
health. So, parents need to take steps to protect their children and loved one from cybercrime.
Families need to be aware of the risks we are exposed to, the ways to prevent them and finally
how to solve them. This project will consider that education is the best way to fight this .
Cybersecurity was not something past generations of parents had to worry about when raising
their children, but it is a big part of all our lives now. And even though we may not like all
that comes with these technologies, they’re here to stay, so it is imperative that we teach our
children how to use them responsibly and safely.
Need analysis show that new innovative approaches should be developed in order to making
support and guidance more usable for families to manage potential online risks in the future.
Because Family need to learn how information about the repercussions of potentially risky
online behaviour is given to children and seniors. . The project will focus on providing
support to families. Thus the project will provide positive support approaches for different
online risks.
Fort this reason, this Project will help to develop new programmes to prevent cyberbullying
and for more parental control to protect people with ID against cybercrime. We know that
children and seniors to be more vulnerable to online crime and deviant behaviour and thus in
greater need of protection and safeguarding. The only possible step is to make families
The project will focus on training of families to learn more about cybersecurity and to start
using tools and resources to stay safe. The project will support and training of families for

managing digital devices, screen time and creating family protocols for digital use in the
home.
