BYMBE: "Bringing Young Mothers Back to Education": project results, tools and methods for social workers, trainers and teachers working with NEET mothers

TreeImage.
Sonja Karbon

The problem of young mothers dropping out of education and facing difficulties in going back to education or training or entering the labour market with low qualifications is still a larger scale problem in Europe, and a consortium of partners with a complementary mix of skills and experience was created in order to develop a project tackling this issue on a European level.

The project BYMBE was approved by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme – KA2 – Strategic Partnerships for adults, and has produced training tools in support of the work of social workers, teachers and trainers working with young mothers while adding innovative elements: an analysis of the educational framework and supporting facilities of the involved countries in order to develop knowledge about the differences in circumstances and needs of the target group in each country.

Activities have a European dimension in order to address the problems young mothers face on a wider scale. A commitment was made to address these activities with young mothers in both cities and rural areas.
