Adult Education centre–LUNG (Ljudska univerza Nova Gorica) is a modern educational centre, located in the West of Slovenia. LUNG's wide spectrum of offers is divided into: education (elementary school for adults, vocational and high school programs, academic and proffesional higher education, post-grad studies), languages (general language courses, individual courses, custom courses), self-improvement (computer and accounting courses, national vocational qualifications), leisure, learning support-projects (signing up to various local, national and international project open calls). LUNG houses Northern Primorska's Lifelong Learning Centre - Consulting Centre for Adults in Education - ISIO, Centre for information and vocational counselling, Lifelong learning points, Knowledge Exchange and the Centre for self-study. We have created an open learning environment, increased access to learning, education, and advice about the various possibilities and opportunities in education. Due to the nature of our work we have strong connections to various educational institutons in the area and on national level.

Every year we take part in different tenders in order to offer our participants free classes in the field of active citizenship, training for a successful life and environment sustainability,.. Through tenders we are also able to organize different free study circles. Our staff are continually being educated in teaching and working with adults. We work with our local job centre as skilled and experienced partners in counselling, career guidance and support.

We have also carried out several non-formal education programmes, educational programmes to raise the level of literacy and project-based learning among young adults (motivating vulnerable target groups and identifying their needs) and heve been taking part in projects such as  »The introduction of the model of identification and evaluation of non-formal learning in adult education, Nova Gorica« (motivating vulnerable target groups and identifying their needs)., Erasmus+: I'm Active (for better integration of women, third country nationals), AdEIGus (Adult educational information and guidance service), Unexpressed Talent (decreasing social and educational exclusion of the young), and others.
