Project Aims: Empowering Caregivers and Raising Awareness

The primary aim of the SENSE project is to empower caregivers by offering comprehensive and innovative educational resources that improve their skills and enhance their ability to support those living with dementia. The project focuses on developing a variety of materials that can be used in training sessions, workshops, and everyday caregiving situations.

These resources include:

  • Educational Materials: A comprehensive guidebook, curriculum, podcasts, and videos tailored to the specific needs of caregivers and educators.
  • Digital Tools: Interactive and user-friendly tools to support caregivers in their day-to-day work, making caregiving more manageable and effective.
  • Training Sessions: Focused training that will equip caregivers with the latest knowledge and techniques for dementia care.
  • Pilot Testing: practical and adaptable national and transnational sessions before being distributed on a wider scale.

Key Activities and Expected Outcomes

The SENSE project will carry out a range of activities aimed at creating long-lasting impact:

  • Development of Educational Resources: The creation of accessible, practical educational materials to improve caregiver knowledge and skills.
  • Innovative Digital Tools: The development of easy-to-use digital solutions that support caregivers in real-time situations.
  • Pilot Testing and Feedback: Ensuring that the resources and tools work effectively in real-life settings through pilot testing and feedback.
  • Dissemination: The distribution of project outcomes, ensuring that materials reach caregivers and educators across Europe, with plans for wider global application.

The tangible outcomes of the project will include a comprehensive toolkit, digital tools, a curriculum, and podcasts—all designed to improve the lives of dementia patients and their caregivers. By raising awareness and providing targeted training, SENSE aims to create an inclusive and sustainable approach to dementia care that can be adapted and applied globally.

A Bright Future for Dementia Care

The SENSE project represents a significant step forward in addressing the challenges faced by caregivers of seniors with severe dementia. By focusing on practical solutions, training, and accessible resources, SENSE aims to improve caregiver skills, increase awareness, and ultimately enhance the quality of care for those living with dementia.

As the project progresses, it will continue to provide valuable tools and resources to support caregivers and ensure that dementia care is more effective, compassionate, and sustainable across Europe and beyond.
