The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, CEDEFOP, published an analysis of the demand for digital skills. The evidence in this publication examines the capital role of digital skills in economic development and global competitiveness of Europe, pointing towards a drastic need of accelerating the digital transition.

In line with the objectives of the European Year of Skills, it calls for an upskilling and reskilling of the workforce, investing in the skills of teachers and trainers and modernising education and training systems to help ensure the digital revolution will benefit all citizens. Among other themes, it describes the way artificial intelligence is becoming a driver for productivity and competitiveness, making the case for the need of other transversal skills in dealing with AI.
