Environmental Film Days, organized by Aydın Efeler Municipality in order to draw attention to the environmental problems in the region and to create a perception to raise the awareness of nature and environment in the society, will begin with the Gala on 11 October. A total of 26 films will be screened, including 10 films, 5 of which are shot by foreign directors.

For the films based on the effects of geothermal power plants on the social fabric and human life in the Efeler district, the filmmakers who came to the region twice made intense contacts and interviews, especially for the people living in the region, institutions and NGOs, in order to create the scenarios that were the basis of their films. Afterwards, the directors came back to Efeler and made the shootings that will be the subjects of their films. 

After the Gala, the screenings will be held on 12-15 October at the Efeler Municipality's Şükran Güngör-Yıldız Kenter Cultural Center and Theater Hall for 4 days.

The event, which aims to create ecological awareness through art, also includes the opportunity to learn about ecology for local people, adults and young adults and all interested people.
