One of the fundamental goals of every contemporary society is to implement the equality of every member and group of the society based on exercising anti-discriminatory policies. These groups include one of the most sensitive groups that experience multiple discrimination in regard to gender inequality, disability, ethnicity, age-based bias and stereotypes – vulnerable women groups. These women face adverse situations in comparison to men in the labour market, education system and cultural life, thus encountering poverty and social disjuncture more frequently.

This paper presents the research carried out in order to evaluate the current situation of the vulnerable women groups. The aim of the research was to carry out the analysis of vulnerable women groups – the disabled, ethnic minority (including women of Roman nationality) and the elderly (age group of the 55-66 – pre-retirement age and older than 60 years) - and women’s migrant status in the employment area, to identify existing issues, evaluate the efficiency of measures currently being implemented, and to propose measures to solve the occurring issues. The triangulatory research system was chosen for this research and it is based on the variety of information sources and their collection and record methods that enabled the phenomenon to be analysed holistically and contextually. The research incorporated quantitative (official statistics, data from the 2011 population census, secondary source analysis, and a presentable structured telephone survey) and qualitative (direct survey of vulnerable women groups) research methods that enabled a wide and diverse insight and explanation of the situation of the vulnerable groups in the labour market and their needs and expectations in the economic and social life. The conclusions led to foresee the effective strategies and aids for the improvement of these women’s situation in the employment area. The most important among these aids is education.
