The present century has brought significant changes for organisations and industries throughout the world. Such changes have been reflected in a new way of working and organising that differ from the traditional, being the newest more prone to risk-taking and innovative approaches. In this increasingly competitive and global business context, it has appeared a relatively new concept: intrapreneurship.

Intrapreneurial attitudes have been proven to lead not only to organisations' success but also to personal self-improvement. Business heads and CEOs are aware of it and accordingly, they pursue workers with intrapreneurial traits who are able to turn good ideas into successful reality. Such traits are difficult to be acquired, so employees usually possess them after years of experience, however, they can also be learnt informally.

Therefore, in the Erasmus+ KA2 project titled Intranet: Intrapreneurship net-playbook, we attempt to develop an internationally (at a European level) personalised playbook which can help individuals (i.e. workers, unemployed people) improve their intrapreneurship skills. Moreover, the project is intended to aid direct to aid direct supervisors and support organisations which are willing to foster intrapreneurship.

In order to be able to develop proper and valuable content, the partnership carried out a qualitative and quantitative research on how to foster intrapreneurship within enterprises by promoting the acquisition of soft skills and intrapreneurial attitudes and exploring the internal culture of organisations. This study was effective to choose which intrapreneurial skills out of all the existing ones, were going to be addressed and further promoted in the project. The article was published in the eleventh edition of the international conference EDULEARN19.

In this sense, this project is closely linked to the priorities of the European Union. The Commissions objective is to encourage people to become intrapreneurs and also make it easier for them to set up and grow their businesses. Following are the outputs that will be developed within the project:

  • Guide for assessment. Useful tools for trainers that will help to identify the current needs of learners group or team inside an organisation, that is, staff currently working or unemployed people who is interested in increasing their intrapreneurial skills.
  • Trainer's book. It is a manual that will show the methodological approach chosen and proposes ICt-based activities with examples, scenarios and recommendations for intrapreneurial skills acquisition. The manual also includes a section for stakeholders to make them interested about intrapreneurship training.
  • Online training environment. The ten online activities will be helpful to either foster or acquire the intrapreneurial skills selected (according to the research done previously) as more relevant. The online activities support individuals in acquiring and developing transversal and soft skills and intrapreneurial competencies that are of a great value not only in a working environment but also in an individual's daily life.
  • Transferability and valorisation guide. It will be useful for institutions to increase their awareness, capacities and evaluation skills to detect, plan and implement an intrapreneurship attitude inside the institution through education.

If you are interested in the project, you can get more information on the project's website: intra-net.org. Do not hesitate to contact us to collaborate, test or use the materials developed.
