EPALE - Elektronska platforma za obrazovanje odraslih

Cookie notice

To make this site work properly, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on your device. Most big websites do this too.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another. In addition, a website might potentially use external services, which also set their own cookies, known as third-party cookies.

Persistent cookies are cookies saved on your computer that are not deleted automatically when you quit your browser, unlike a session cookie, which is deleted when you quit your browser.

Every time you visit this website you will be prompted to accept or refuse cookies.

How do we use cookies?

Cookies in EPALE are used for either user experience enhancement or for collecting anonymous statistical data.

Experience enhancement cookies store user’s preferences and information that improve the user’s visit by showing or hiding certain elements and make decisions that affect the site’s speed.

Statistical data is gathered for the purpose of detecting user trends and possible problems. This information helps the EPALE team to plan future improvements.

However, to view some of our pages, you will have to accept cookies from external organizations.

The 3 types of first-party cookie we use are to:

  • store visitor preferences
  • make our websites operational
  • gather analytics data (about user behavior).

Cookie types

Session – these are cookies that exist only for the duration of the visit. When the user closes the browser these cookies are gone.

Persistent – these cookies have an expiration date and will stay in a file in the user’s computer until the expiration date is reached. Closing the browser will not delete these cookies but the browser can be used to delete them at any time (information on how to delete cookies).
