Media Research Center (MRC)  is a Serbian non-profit organization whose mission is to promote role of the Media, Peace and Information Literacy in the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, new media pedagogy, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.
Media Research Center provides the community with the resources to produce local news and information with integrity and independence. With global expertise and reach, Media Research Center trains both media professionals and citizen journalists, introduces innovative media solutions, increases coverage of vital issues and helps establish policies needed for open access to information.
Cooperates with professional associations and other organizations from Serbia and abroad that are working to establish the basic conditions necessary for the diffusion of media literacy, media education, television programming, and audio-video communications and media projects for children and young people all over the world.
We believe that the freedom of expression as a fundamental human right and a core pillar of good governance and the rule of law; only media that are genuinely independent politically, editorially and economically can duly fulfill their key role in a democratic society: to be a watchdog over governments and businesses and inform their audiences about all important aspects of life impartially, reflecting a variety of views, allowing societies to make informed choices when electing and evaluating their governments;

We believe in reaffirming the fundamental importance of freedom of expression and freedom of the media – including the principles of independence, pluralism, and diversity – both in their own right and as essential tools for the defense of all other rights, as a core element of democracy, and for advancing development goals.
