The Austrian national EPALE and Erasmus+ conference "Fact or Fiction? Critical media literacy in adult education" will take place on 14 June 2023 in Vienna.

Fake news, filter bubbles, hate postings and technically generated opinion-making, but also the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in various areas of society and not least in adult education, require a critical examination of the phenomena of digitality. The acquisition of critical media competency is of central importance here. Which skills are understood by this and how does adult education respond to this societal challenge? Which demands is adult education pursuing with regard to accompanying the digital transformation? How does it live up to these expectations? How is critical media competency developed in individual areas of adult education?
