Who are we?

The Official School of Languages is a public educational institution (language school for adults aged 16 and older) in Granollers, a town near Barcelona in Catalonia.

Our staff consists of five English teachers and three German teachers. We teach                     languages from levels A1 to C1.

Our strengths:

• We have extensive experience working with blended-learning courses, which we 

offer practically at all levels, alongside traditional face-to-face courses.We have a lot 

of experience integrating a wide variety of tools in these courses and we are used to  

exchanging our knowledge in pedagogical  meetings.

• We have developed digital protocols to welcome new teachers and students and to 

facilitate their use of ICT in their learning process. Different ICT skills are integrated

 into our curricula as a contribution to the foreign language learning process.

• We provide personalized attention to students through individual and group tutorial sessions each term,  either in person or online.
• We are a learner-centred school and have particularly focussed on productive activities, oral and written expression, which we promote through a portfolio project and conversation classes.
• We have been organizing language exchanges with other students for several years through various tandem projects and we are looking forward to participating in Erasmus+ or eTwinning projects.

What we would like to learn or deepen:

• We would like to deepen our knowledge of  collaborative project-based learning, which is only done sporadically at our school. The idea would be to find out how to integrate it in our context.

We work with adults from different backgrounds and educational profiles, but we are just starting to learn about how to cater for  students with special needs. It is in this area that we would like to have more knowledge and tools to be able to work and respond to their needs.
