The Cultural Center Travno organizes and implements numerous cultural, educational, and creative programs for many years, with a significant number of users, primarily children and retiree, but we face challenges in attracting and engaging youth and migrants. This issue can seriously affect the diversity of our Center and its ability to reflect and support the wider community.

Young people often seek dynamic, interactive, and contemporary content, and traditional cultural centers may not be stimulating enough for this demographic, losing their significance as gathering places. We want to design innovative programs that attract their attention, creating an appealing environment for socializing, exploring, exchanging experiences, and informal education through various workshops, clubs, and associations.

Another issue is the lack of cultural diversity and inclusivity concerning the rapidly growing migrant population in Croatia, relatively new phenomenon in our region, presenting numerous challenges, misunderstandings, and prejudices. Learning from the experiences of other countries that have faced similar situations earlier can educate us about these issues. What cultural programs aid integration? What are the possible problems? How to promote them? How to sensitize the local community? We aim to make Cultural Center Travno open and welcoming to various cultures and languages, creating a safe and supportive space for our new fellow citizens.

We believe that job shadowing and partnering with organizations experienced in working with these groups would help us develop concrete and useful activities. With the financial support of the Erasmus+ program, we have the opportunity for 3 of our employees to spend 5 working days in an organization experienced in working with these groups. Through this way of learning and sharing experiences, we also hope to create long-term partnerships and possible collaborations.
