The Don Orione Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization of Social Utililty. The Foundation realizes international educational and social health projects: specific activities for disabled, children, elderlies, women and people in social marginality and poverty. It promotes the training of educators and operators in developing countries. It acts to ensure the educational integration of children in at-risk groups. It promotes education and research in the field of international cooperation. It works for the establishment of voluntary groups, ensuring also training based on professional education of young people and adults, literacy of children, the social progress of women and the defense of the rights of the disabled. The Don Orione Foundation also collaborates with other non-profit organization, NGO, public and private organizations working in the field of solidarity and international cooperation, including: SEV
Orion ’84, Endofap - National Agency for Vocational Education and Training, Serafim Foundation, Need You Onlus, Presider, Movement "Tra Noi", AINA Fund - Little Missionary Sisters of Charity, City of Rome, Lazio Region - Department for social Policy, Cies - Centre Information and Development Education. The Foundation operates in over 30 countries around the world with various sensitive areas. Some of the activities promoted by the FDO are: accommodating people in need, working to promote social emancipation of the weakest: children, disabled, women, people without a home or work, people excluded from society.The Foundation is committed in youth policies by enabling projects to raise awareness and promote active citizenship between young people, and activating voluntary actions that see the young people as protagonists. It also promotes the involvement in all its activities of young people with fewer opportunities. The group of young volunteers of the Foundation is particularly active, it does not fail to support with interest the initiatives and projects that are promoted. The Don Orione Foundation has a staff of 3 paid employee including the President of the Foundation.
