Together with Economic Modelling Specialists Intl (EMSI), the 157 Group of colleges published a report proofing the economic impact of a further education college and presents three case studies. The impact analysis showed that the average impact of a college to their regional economy is £550m. Additionally it shows investment benefits to learners, society and taxpayers.

The report refers to several impact studies conducted by individual colleges proofing their contribution to the local economy. The Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College, the Sheffield City Region Colleges and the Hull College Group are presented as case studies.
