MailArt4 Seniors Erasmus Project

MailArt for Seniors: Erasmus Project

The EU-funded Mailart project for senior citizens aims to combat the isolation of the elderly population through the art of Mailart.
This project, with a duration of 24 months, started on 01/06/2021 and will end on 31/05/2023.
The project, coordinated by the partner from Lithuania, has as partners Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, Finland and Greece.
Within the project two LTTAS trainings took place, one in Madeira Island (LTTA aimed at trainers, artists, staff and teachers), from 5 to 9 September 2022, attended by 18 trainers to implement the methodology of correspondence art with elderly people. This LTTA ended with a collective exhibition of correspondence art that included several artists from the partner countries, as well as works made during the week with elderly people.
The second LTTA took place in Greece, from 4 to 8 October 2022, where seniors and trainers were present. During one week they carried out various Mailart activities, resulting in 30 senior learners trained in the use of Mailart. At the end there was a beautiful exhibition of works made with the expressive technique of Mailart.
The project also included two work meetings, the first in Lithuania, the second in Finland, and the last meeting will be held in Bologna on 24 and 25 April 2023.
