KA1 COURSE: WORKING WITH LEARNERS FROM DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS
Nowadays, teachers and adult education trainers need to face with very diverse profiles of students from vulnerable backgrounds, marginalized groups in risk of exclusion. Teachers and adult education trainers need to develop their personal and social skills in order to understand the very different realities of their learners. Empathy, active listening and other special skills are necessary when working with learners with physical or mental special needs, learners with difficult socio-economic situations, women dealing with domestic violence, persons with literacy challenges, seniors, learners from different cultural backgrounds such as refugees, migrants etc. This training course is for adult educators who want to learn about different alternative methodologies that can be used to adapt teaching to the needs of learners from vulnerable backgrounds. The participants will learn how to apply various active learning methods in order to promote inclusion, tolerance and diversity. They will experience examples of activities that can be designed to support increasing diversity in nowadays society. The active learning methodologies are adequate for social inclusion of marginalized learners because they focus on learning-by-doing and interactive exercises in small groups.
KA 1 COURSE: CREATIVE TEACHING TECHNIQUES TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION
In this course adult educators will acquire new learning-by-doing and art-based teaching tools and develop their personal and social skills in order to understand and adapt to the realities of their disadvantaged learners such as migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and learners from low socio-economic backgrounds. Taking into account the current situation with migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and post-crisis families with low socio-economic background, teachers need to develop their personal and social skills in order to be able to promote inclusive education. This training course is for adult educators and teachers who want to learn about different alternative methodologies that can be used to adapt teaching to the needs of learners from vulnerable backgrounds and have an inclusive approach in class. The participant will learn how to apply various active learning methods in order to promote inclusion, tolerance, diversity and critical thinking. They will learn low-budget exercises and experiments that can be used to increase motivation, engagement and sense of belonging of learners, irrespective of their cultural, ethnic, socio-economic background or educational level. These active learning methodologies are adequate for teaching learners in their second language, multicultural classrooms or marginalized learners, as they focus on learning-by-doing and interactive exercises in small groups.
KA1 COURSE: GENDER AWARENESS, CLASSROOM DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
This course aims at enabling teachers and community leaders to gain a gender perspective, detect and be aware of the inequalities that exist between men and women in different societies in order to promote inclusive education. The participants will learn how gender norms are formed and perpetuated and how they impact people and create unequal opportunities that can lead to gender-based violence. In addition, this course seeks and explains alternative strategies such as gender mainstreaming and the history and evolution of the feminist movement.
