Clean Break and Queen Mary University of London will be holding a one-day training course for those working as theatre artists, criminal justice professionals and playwrights who are early in their career, to enable them to facilitate playwriting workshops in criminal justice settings. Playwright Vivienne Franzmann and Clean Break’s Joint Artistic Director Anna Hermann will deliver the course.

The course will provide a fusion of writing and drama exercises, group work and discussion. Participants will learn about activities tailored to this unique environment, identify best practice, hear insights from playwright’s for Clean Break and explore next steps for establishing a career in prison playwriting.
 

Playwright Vivienne Franzmann has taught playwriting both in the UK and internationally, winning awards for her plays and working as Resident Playwright for Clean Break in 2012.
