EPALE focus: Volunteering in adult learning
EPALE’s thematic focus for December is on the role of volunteering in adult learning.
Volunteers can contribute to the adult learning sector by working alongside local staff to provide basic education and language learning, or in other ways such as assisting in small community ventures and skills training. But it’s not just about basic skills and literacy – volunteers with expertise in business or marketing, for example, can help people with the skills needed to set up and run a small business. They can help develop cross-cultural relationships and enable adults to make a living or understand their human rights.
