EPALE - ePlatforma za izobraževanje odraslih v Evropi

Organizzazione di formazione per adulti

Over the past few decades, the evolution of the economy, increasingly oriented towards industrial and commercial factors, has led to the renunciation and abandonment of economic concepts built on factors of manufacturing and agricultural production. This evolution has allowed the growth of a more widespread situation of well-being in society but at the same time has contributed to the dispersion and loss of knowledge, habits and lifestyles of fundamental importance for the organic growth of people. Analyzing one of the sectors of vital importance in the pre-industrial economy, in particular the agricultural-food economy, we must note the almost total abandonment of knowledge connected to it. In summary, we note that many species of spontaneous local plants used for both food and medicinal purposes are nowhere to be found, either because of their disappearance due to the lack of attention of man, or because of the loss of knowledge connected to them. Respect for spontaneous flora contributes to maintaining a sustainable habitat and to safeguarding bio diversity. The discovery of the properties of plants has fueled a long tradition of treatments and treatments for the benefit of human health. Not only that, they are testimony to the richness of the local flora and with them the food preparations, traditions and historical memory of the places are rediscovered. The collection of spontaneous plants can benefit health, since it influences the psycho-physical aspects of man (movement in nature), the discovery of the territories and the creative capacity of local communities (production of infusions and homemade medicines but also to cook typical genuine dishes).

The project aims to rediscover, extend and deepen the knowledge of wild plants through the development of the activities foreseen in the project proposal which we can briefly summarize:

  • study of the recognition and identification systems of the various spontaneous plants
  • recognition of the processes of application of plants in daily and medicinal life
  • disclosure of instructions for the practical use of plants through a theoretical / practical training system designed through the use of the technique of serious games.

To complete and integrate the teaching activities, the partner organizations will meet for the creation and development of educational outputs which will be disseminated and tested by the project targets.
The main objective of the project is to reacquire the lost notions on herbs to get a better understanding of the places where species grow spontaneously. All this not only generates an advantage in terms of health but also above all preserves the environment, traditions and foods that unite the territories discovered from the point of view of the local flora.
