A collection of case studies from the 'Essential Skills in the Workplace' project, which finished in December 2014.

The project aimed to raise levels of essential skills in the employed workforce through increased and enhanced essential skills support within the workplace.

Through bespoke training in English, Maths and IT - directly related to the organisation and employee - it developed the workforce through:

  • improved team work and customer service
  • improved quality control
  • increased accuracy, less wastage
  • increased confidence
  • greater flexibility for effective multi-skilling

The Essential Skills in the Workplace (ESIW) programme is part financed by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
