The project VOLUNTEERS4EUROPE (V4E) introduces and promotes the colourful world of volunteering to people of all ages in Europe. The project teams from Estonia, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden make photo reportages about different interesting voluntary activities in their respective countries. The results are presented to the public at transnational exhibitions and presentations in all partner countries. An E-Book with the results of the project will be published as an Open Educational Resource towards the end of the project in August 2020.
The first V4E-Exhibition opened in Rastatt/Germany in cooperation with the German Federal Archives and the municipality of Rastatt on April 16, 2019. It was a great success, because many people visited the exhibition. At the opening of the exhibition, politicians and project partners emphasized the importance of volunteering for our societies. They took the opportunity to honour many volunteers who had come. One of them, the leader of the rescue dog group of the German Red Cross in Bühl, introduced the voluntary work of his team as an example of the high impact that volunteering has. Every year dog handlers invest between 350 to 400 hours of volunteer work in education and training. They all are enthusiastic about their work.
The next V4E-Exhibition will open it's doors on August 26, 2019 at 18.00 o'clock in the Folkets Hus in Stockholm/Hallunda. Many interesting volunteering activities will be shown. On the opening volunteers, the project teams and all interested people will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences about volunteering. The entrance is free!
