We are happy to announce that in April 2018 EPALE turns three! It has been an exciting three years for us as our community has grown from a few hundred to over 37,000 registered members, with thousands of adult learning professionals visiting the platform every month to find support or inspiration. Thanks to the hard work of the 36 national EPALE teams across Europe, our mission to support the adult learning community is still going strong.

Our community
EPALE is a one stop shop for anyone working in the adult learning sector – we help our members stay up to date with the latest developments, find inspiration for projects, look for practical resources, find project partners and discuss ideas with their peers.
Take a look at what some of our members from across Europe said about us:
EPALE is the right solution for educators since it provides them with verified high-quality content which has already been tested and used by other colleagues across Europe.
Darijan Novak, adult educator
We signed up on EPALE because we needed a fourth partner for our project. Within a few days, a lot of organisations contacted us, and in the end we could select from a group of highly qualified candidates. We are really pleased with how EPALE worked for us.
Anna Margrét and Linda Dröfn, specialists at the Evris Foundation
EPALE is about sharing expertise and enabling policymakers and practitioners across Europe to come together and learn from one another.
Andrew McCoshan, adult learning policy expert
The EPALE platform offers us an opportunity to connect with other individual practitioners and organisations, and share case studies and approaches.
Emma Whitelock, CEO at LEAD Scotland
EPALE’s networks of ambassadors and experts
EPALE’s national teams are building wide networks of ambassadors and experts whose role is not only to contribute with high-quality content, but also to spread the word about EPALE among their peers, so that more people can take advantage of the platform’s benefits. Their first meeting was organised in Rome by EPALE’s National Support Service in Italy, where over 70 ambassadors and EPALE members from 18 countries got together to discuss how to make national adult education support more efficient through the collaboration of experts at the local level.
Here are some interviews we have collated from across Europe:
For many years I have been working in adult education in different sectors – academic research as well as civil society – so becoming an EPALE Ambassador was an obvious choice for me. I expect this experience will help me build Europe bottom up together with other colleagues who consider education a driver of real change.
Gilda Esposito, EPALE ambassador, Italy
I became an EPALE ambassador to show the world, and especially European leaders and Dutch leaders, the requirements to construct high-quality adult education.
Kees Hammink, EPALE ambassador, the Netherlands
EPALE is a meeting place between three actors – practitioners, researchers and organisations – and its main goal is to connect these different actors.
Isabelle Houot, EPALE expert, France
By sharing expertise and experience from across Europe, EPALE can help us develop better resources and provision and ensure that the learning and training needs of adults are met.
Abdul Qadir, EPALE ambassador, the United Kingdom
